My blog's birthday

So I've decided to bite the bullet and join the blogging world. The reason? In four days I'm taking off on a new adventure, a teaching job in South Korea. Chances are, if you are reading this blog, you already know this. If this is news to you, then let me fill you in on the details: For the next two years I'll be teaching literature and writing at Gyeonggi Suwon International School, a private school in Suwon (about an hour south of Seoul). I'll be there for two years and will also be teaching in the IB program. This blog, then, will allow me to keep you posted on what I'm up to in Asia. I'll still have email and facebook, of course, but the blog will be more narrative and detailed. In the meantime I have a few things on the agenda stateside - finish the Great Closet Purge, continue to binge on guacamole and brownies (hard to find in Korea), see Harry Potter again, and play around with my new Canon Rebel!

A Brief Geography Lesson:


The Korean Peninsula is located between China and Japan.


Now find Suwon - it's just south of Seoul.
